More pics from the Oregon Coast

In my last posting, I didn't put forth a picture of the actual grounds and Christmas decorations at Shore Acres. The gardens are lush with rare imported and hybrid plants, all lit up for the holidays.
I've always loved these marvelous cypress trees that dominate the entrance to Shore Acres.

Using my strong telephoto lens, I captured this picture of the rough surf of an incoming violent Pacific storm. Yeah, it's a little blurry from the water vapor in the air but, I sure wouldn't want to be caught in that water this time of year.


Here's a different view of that hardy sitka spruce. It's kind of like it's on stilts.


And, finally, I still marvel at the unusual quality of this rock on top of the bluffs, but still in the surf-zone, during big waves. I'd be curious to know exactly how they got this way, assuming that the rock has small pockets of slightly more erodable rock embedded within.
